Founder, Matt Parkes, has had a lifelong love of motorsport.

 

“I started karting in 1998 at just 13 years old and raced in several karting championships achieving great results and plenty of trophies. In 2010 I was driven to build my own race car and with the support of my family and friends, I entered the Production BMW Championship in 2011. We had a very successful first race season, receiving the ‘Rookie of the Year’ club award.

 

The Parkes Motorsport team was founded after my second season competing in the Marangoni Production BMW Championship. This televised race season saw further determination and progress. We made it onto the podium at Snetterton, Silverstone and Brands Hatch which resulted in an overall 4th position in the championship. We went on to win the Production BMW championship in our 3rd year after a great season which saw me on the podium at every race meeting.

 

I was then ready to move on to my next challenge, we built a car to compete in the BMW Compact Cup and entered this championship in 2017. This first season was tough with some great drivers at the front of the grid. Despite this we fought a hard battle and finished this rookie year in 4th position showing I had the skill and car to mount a good challenge.

 

Parkes Motorsport Race Team was established in 2018, we started this race season not only challenging for the top spot but also running several other drivers, providing them with track support and driver tuition. These proved to be great partnerships and have developed into a successful race team since then.”
